Buying with confidence
Returns, Warranty & Shipping
Every watch is built to your order. That is a reason to be careful with you, not a reason to make you careful with us.
Thirty days to change your mind
We pay the return shipping
If the watch is not for you, tell us within thirty days of it arriving and we will take it back. We send you a prepaid, insured label — you are not out of pocket for changing your mind.
We ask that it comes back unworn, with its box, papers and any spare strap. Unworn means it has not been outside: try it on, wind it, set it, wear it around the house. A watch that has been worn out of doors cannot be sold as new to somebody else, and we would rather say that plainly than argue about what a scratch means.
Refunds go back to the original payment method within five working days of the watch reaching us. Personal engraving is the one exception: a caseback cut with somebody’s initials cannot be resold, so those are final unless the watch is faulty.
Two years on the movement and the build
From the day it arrives
If the movement stops keeping time, the crown stops winding, the hands come loose, the lume fails, or anything else goes wrong that was wrong when we sent it — we repair it or replace it, and we pay the postage both ways.
What it does not cover is the ordinary life of a watch: a scratched crystal, a worn strap, a dented case, water where the rating does not allow it, or a movement opened by somebody other than us. Straps and buckles are wearing parts and are not covered beyond arrival.
There is no card to register and no form to keep. Your order number is the warranty — we hold the record of what was built and when.
Free shipping within the United States
Insured and tracked, every time
Domestic shipping is free, insured for the full value, and tracked. You will have the tracking number the day it leaves us. Somebody has to sign for it — a watch left on a doorstep is a watch nobody can prove arrived.
International orders are quoted at checkout, insured and tracked on the same terms. Import duties and taxes are set by your own country and are payable by you; we cannot calculate them in advance and we do not mark parcels down to avoid them.
Every watch is inspected here in Michigan before it goes out. Build time is quoted on the watch’s own page and starts when your order is placed, not when it ships.
If something is wrong, write to us
A policy is a floor, not a ceiling. If a watch arrives and it is not what you were shown, we would rather hear it than have you live with it — whether or not the thirty days have run out. Tell us, or write straight to Jon@hvoshofmeister.com.
